MICHAEL THOMPSON BAND – “Future Past” neue Klänge / new sounds

DEUTSCH: Michael Thompson ist einer der grössten Gitarrenspieler der Welt. Er ist in der gleichen Liga wie Steve Lukather oder Dann Huff, um nur ein paar zu nennen. Zahlreiche Künstler wie Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, The Scorpions, Madonna und viele mehr nahmen schon seine wertvollen Dienste in Anspruch.
Das 1989 erschienene Album ”How Long” wird noch heute als Meisterstück in Rock/AOR gehandelt. Darauf vertreten waren angesehene Namen wie z.B. Pat Torpey (später Drummer von Mr Big), John Elefante (Kansas), Toto’s Bobby Kimball, Michael Lardie (Great White).
Auf ”Future Past” (VÖ 24.02.12) tut sich Thompson zusammen mit dem grossartigen neuen Sänger Larry King von Soleil Moon. Musikalisch geht das neue Album zurück zur Atmosphäre des Debüts mit den Harmonien, dem Songwriting und den Melodien, die als sein Markenzeichen gelten!

ENGLISH: Michael Thompson is one of the leading guitar players of the world, in the same league of Steve Lukather or Dann Huff to name a few. He played for countless artists including:Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, The Scorpions, Madonna and many more.

“Future Past” (available 24.02.12) sees Thompson teaming up with the awesome new singer Larry King from Soleil Moon. The production of the album is just flawless and “Future Past” is destined to become soon another AOR music classic.

MR BIG – Eine akustische Nacht / One acoustic night

DEUTSCH: Mr Big sind seit 2009 wieder in ihrer Original-Besetzung. Seitdem tourte die Band zweimal in Japan mit unglaublichem Beifall der Fans. Nach der Veröffentlichung des Reunion-Albums “What If” wurde die Band in die WOWOW TV Studios in Tokio eingeladen, um eine besondere akustische Show zu spielen.
Als die Sendung zum Ersten mal zur Sprache kam, wollten die Jungs etwas präsentieren was sie noch nie zuvor gemacht haben. So entstand die Idee einer akustischen Show, mit der Unterstützung eines Streichquintetts.
Hier ist das Ergebnis aus dieser magischen Nacht in Tokio: 10 Mr Big-Klassiker in einem völlig neuen und frischen Kleid und ein Porträt von der ersten akustischen Show der Band überhaupt. Es enthält zudem eine neue Version des zeitlosen Hit “To Be With You”.

ENGLISH: Mr Big reunited in their original lineup in 2009. Since then, the band toured twice Japan with incredible acclaim from the fans. Following the release of the reunion album “What If” Mr Big were invited to the WOWOW TV Studios in Tokyo to perform a special show in an acoustic setting.
When the talk of a broadcast first came up, the guys wanted to present something different than they’ve ever done before. Thus the idea of an acoustic show came about and a string quintet was brought in to enhance the project even more.
The result from that magic night in Tokyo is now here: 10 Mr Big classics in a completely new and fresh dress and a portrait from the very first ever acoustic show from the band. Includes a new version of the timeless hit ”To Be With You”.

SUNSTORM – Neues Album und Songs zum Reinhören / New album and song snippets

DEUTSCH: Alle 80er-Jahre Melodic Rock Fans aufgepasst! Joe Lynn Turners bekanntes AOR Nebenprojekt mit dem Deutsch/Amerikanischen Produzent Dennis Ward, Sunstorm, wird die dritte Platte ‘Emotional Fire’ am 24. Februar 2012 veröffentlichen.
Die Inspiration für die ersten beiden Alben kam hauptsächlich aus dem Melodic Rock. Für dieses Album haben sich die Plattenfirma und Turner entschieden, sich auf die unzähligen vocal sessions zu konzentrieren, die er als Backgroundsänger in den 80er Jahren gemacht hat.
‘Emotional Fire’ ist dazu bestimmt, die Melodic Rock Leidenschaft in jedem Fan wieder zu beleben. Wir sind überzeugt, dass dies auch gelingt. Hier ist das Tracklist und einige Songausschnitte als Vorspeise:

ENGLISH: To all Melodic Rock fans from the 80s: Joe Lynn Turner’s popular AOR side project with German/American producer Dennis Ward, Sunstorm, will release the third album entitled “Emotional Fire” on February 24th 2012.
While the first two albums’ basic inspiration came from the Melodic Rock catalogue of songs that Turner penned for himself or other artists of the genre, for this third album, Frontiers and JLT decided to look at Turner’s numerous vocal sessions he did in the 80’s as a background vocalist for other artists.
“Emotional Fire,” is destined to reignite the Melodic Rock passion in every fan. And we are all sure it will! Here’s the tracklist and some appetizers to listen to:

SONIC STATION – bringt die 80er in die Zukunft / take the 80’s into the future

DEUTSCH: Sonic Station ist ein neues Westcoast-AOR Projekt, zusammengestellt von Alexander Kronbrink (ein Schwedischer Gitarrist, Komponist und Produzent). Er erlernte sein Können beim Smooth Jazz Star Jonathan Fritzen.
Alexander sagt: “Ich war immer interessiert daran, mit der Gitarre alles zu spielen von Jazz zu Pop über Country bis Hard Rock. Ich hörte eine Menge American Session Gitarristen wie Steve Lukather, Michael Landau und Dan Huff. Warscheinlich hat mich diese Art von Musik am Meisten beeinflusst.”
Das gleichnamige Album das im Februar erscheint, basiert auf der 80er Jahre AOR Musik (wie Toto, Mr. Mister und Journey) und dem West Coast-Sound wie Airplay und Chicago. Das Resultat “Sonic Station” ist ein ausdruckstarkes und warmes Album, auf dem jeder Song ein deutliches und unmittelbares Hit-Feeling hat. “Der Fokus ist die Melodie und ein Sound, der sorgfältig und aufregend Pop, Rock und Jazz verbindet” erklärt Kronbrink.

ENGLISH: Sonic Station is a new Westcoast-AOR Project put together by Alexander Kronbrink (a Swedish guitarist, composer and producer). Alexander is a young musician who learned his skills playing with Smooth Jazz star Jonathan Fritzén.
Alexander says: “I have always been interested in guitarists with the ability to play everything from Jazz, to Pop, to Country, to Hard Rock. I have listened a lot to American session guitarists such as Steve Lukather, Michael Landau and Dan Huff. I guess that type of guitar playing is what have influenced me the most.”
From the very beginning the SONIC STATION project has been based in the 80’s AOR music (influenced by Toto, Mr. Mister and Journey) and the West Coast-sound of Airplay and Chicago. The resulting album “Sonic Station” is an expressive and warm record, where each song has an obvious and immediate hit feeling. “The focus is on melody and the SONIC STATION sound is a meticulous and exciting mixture of Pop, Rock and Jazz”, explains Kronbrink.

THE PROPHECY²³ – kündigen ihr 2. Album an / announce their 2nd record

DEUTSCH: Nach den überwältigenden Kritiken zur Debut Platte “…To The Pit” und gefeierten Shows unter anderem auf dem Wacken Open Air 2011 kündigt The Prophecy²³ jetzt das 2. Album “Green Machine Laser Beam” an. Produziert wird es im Januar und Februar 2012 von Kristian “Kohle” Kohlmannslehner in den Kohlekeller Studios, der bereits bei Chart Breakern wie Crematory oder Powerwolf Hand angelegt hat. Erscheinen wir das 2. Album von The Prophecy²³ im Frühjahr/Sommer 2012. Für das Cover Artwork konnte wieder Marvin Clifford (MAD-Magazine u.a.) gewonnen werden.
ENGLISH: After the overwhelming reviews of their first record “…To The Pit” and many crazy live-shows (i.a. Wacken Open Air 2011) The Prophecy²³ announce their second record “Green Machine Laser Beam”. DEUTSCH: “Damage Control”, das neue Album von Jeff Scott Soto, ist nahezu abgeschlossen. Es verspricht einen Standard, der von einem Künstler der die Welt der Melodic- und Hard Rock Musik durch die Jahre gemeistert hat, erwartet werden kann! MINISTRY – Comeback Album / Comeback album

DEUTSCH: Stolz verkünden wir den Vertragsabschluss zwischen den Industrie-Veteranen Ministry, eine der innovativsten und legendärsten Bands unserer Zeit, mit AFM Records. Ministry unterschrieb einen weltweiten Vertrag ihr mit Spannung erwartetes Comeback Album ‘Relapse’ im März zu veröffentlichen.
