ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW – Studio Update
28. Juni 2011DEUTSCH: Jarmo Puolakanaho hat kürzlich folgenden Blogeintrag veröffentlicht:
“Wie wir euch schon auf unserer facebook-Seite mitgeteilt haben, haben wir den ersten Teil der Aufnahmen in den Tico-Tico Studios beendet.
Wir nehmen das Album in zwei großen und einigen extra Sessions innerhalb dieses Jahres auf. So ist es für uns und unsere Zeitpläne am besten und wir nutzen diese “Lass dir Zeit, dann wird es gut”-Methode bereits seit unserem Comeback im Jahre.
In den vergangenen Wochen haben wir das Rohmaterial für Songs eingespielt. Nun werden wir kurz in den Sommerurlaub verabschieden und danach werden wir mit den Gesangs- und Keyboardaufnahmen beginnen und natürlich auch weitere neue Songs für die zweite Aufnahmesession schreiben, die Ende diesen Jahres stattfinden wird.
Wenn ich mit Worten beschreiben müsste, wie die neuen Songs sind, wäre das so als müsste ich aufzeichnen, wie sie klingen. Und selbst wenn es mir gelingen würde die neuen Songs zu beschreiben, so repräsentieren sie lediglich die erste Hälfte des kommenden Albums.
Wie dem auch sei, wir werden unser zweites (und letztes) Konzert in diesem Jahr beim http://www.jyrkkafestival.com/ in Pudasjärvi spielen. Das ist aus mehreren Gründen schön, denn in dieser Stadt wurde unsere Band gegründet und wir haben vor 14 Jahren unser erstes Konzert auf dieser Bühne gespielt. Und nun kommen wir nach 11 Jahren in unsere Heimat zurück. Schön.”

ENGLISH: Jarmo Puolakanaho has recently released the following blog entry:
“As we already told on our Facebook page we have finished our first recording session at Tico-Tico Studios.
We are recording this album in two main sessions + some extra sessions throughout this year. This way has proven to be the best for us and our timetables and we’ve been using the same “take it slowly, make it good” method ever since our comeback in 2005.
What we did during the past weeks was recording the basic tracks for six songs. Now, it’s time for a short summer holiday after which we’re going to do the vocals and the keyboard tracks, and, of course, to write more new songs for the second main recording session, which is going to take place at the end of this year.
Trying to verbally describe the new songs is like trying to draw how they sound like. And even if we somehow managed to describe how the new songs sound like, they only represent one half of the forthcoming album.
Anyway, it has been announced that we’re going to play our second (and last) gig in 2011 at http://www.jyrkkafestival.com/ in Pudasjärvi. Which is nice, as this band was formed in the very same town and as a matter of fact, we played our very first gig on the same stage fourteen years ago. And now, after eleven years, we’re coming back to our original home town. Nice.”

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET – Gute und schlechte Neuigkeiten / Good and bad news
28. Juni 2011DEUTSCH: Johan hat eine neue facebook Notiz über die Fortschritte bei den Proben veröffentlicht – dabei ging es auch um einen Typen namens Pierre Lysell:
“Wir sind nah an der Perfektion 
Es fühlt sich so gut sein, wieder in unserer alten Death Metal Form zu sein, nachdem wir etwas aus der Übung waren.
Wie auch immer, (…) es gab große Veränderungen in der Band. Ich werde an dieser Stelle nicht weiter ins Detail gehen aber ja, Mattias ist nicht mehr in der Band. Er hat sich sehr der Musik verschrieben, aber seine Vision diesbezüglich hat sich nicht mit dem weiteren Weg der Army vereinbaren lassen. Ich möchte da nicht weiter ins Detail gehen.
Unser neues Bandmitglied heißt Pierre Lysell. Er ist übrigens ein dufter Typ. Aber wir überstürzen nichts, da wir erst schauen wollen, ob wir auch langfristig miteinander auskommen. Wie ihr ja wisst, hatten wir in puncto Gitarristen in der Vergangenheit nicht sehr viel Glück. Bisher läuft aber alles gut und wir hoffen, dass wir euch in ein paar Wochen mehr darüber erzählen können.”
ENGLISH: Johan released a new facebook note about how the rehearsals are going – and about a guy named Pierre Lysell:
“We really are close to perfection now
It just feels great to get back in our death metal shape again after being away for some while now.
Anyway, (…) there has been some major changes in the band. I will not go into any details right now but yes, Mattias is no longer in the band. He was very dedicated to music but his vision kind of crashed with how we wanted to proceed with The Army. There is no need in going into more details.
Our new bandmember is called Pierre Lysell. An awesome guy in any way. But we are kinda taking it day by day with him to see if both he and us can be together for the long run. As you all know we have had pretty bad luck when it comes to guitar players in the past. But so far it has been totally great so in a few weeks we can hopefully give you more info on the matter.”

WORK OF ART – Schwedische Melodic Rock Champions veröffentlichen 2. Album / Swedish Melodic Rock champions release 2nd album
28. Juni 2011DEUTSCH: Das zweite Album der Melodic Rock Asse ‘In Progress’ wird am 26. August veröffentlicht.
Nach dem gefeierten Debüt ‘Art Work’ will die Band mit dem aktuellen Werk an den Erfolg des Vorgängers anknüpfen. Work Of Art waren sehr beschäftigt aber sie haben sich nicht ausgeruht und hart gearbeitet um ein weiteres beeindruckendes Album abzuliefern. Haupt-Songwriter und Gitarrist Robert Sall sagt: ”Viel Blut, Schweiss und Tränen stecken in diesem Album und ich denke das merkt man. Vielleicht haben wir das Rezept nicht allzu gross verändert, aber wir haben sicherlich auf unserem besten Level geschrieben, performt und produziert und somit mit ‘In Progress’ einen riesigen Schritt nach vorne gemacht”.
Und tatsächlich gibt das Album den Melodic Rock Fans genau das was sie wünschen. Mit Songs, die von der ersten Sekunde an Ohrwurm-Qualitäten aufweisen und wunderbaren musikalischen Tönen.

ENGLISH: The second album from the Melodic Rock aces ‘In Progress’ is going to be released on August 26th.
Following the much acclaimed debut record ‘Art Work’ the band wants to follow up to the success of the previous album. Work Of Art were very busy but they did not rest and worked very hard to create another amazing piece of music. Man songwriter and guitarist Robert Sall says: ”A lot of blood, sweat & tears went into the making of this album and I think it shows. Maybe we didn’t change the formula all that much but we certainly made sure to write, perform and produce at our very best and I think we’ve taken a huge step forward on ‘In Progress’ ”
And in reality ‘In Progress’ gives the Melodic Rock fans exactly what they’re looking for, with songs that stick in the ears from the first second and amazing musical licks.

TOBY HITCHCOCK – ‘Mercury’s Down’ Solo Albumdebüt / to debut solo with ‘Mercury’s Down’
28. Juni 2011DEUTSCH: Am 26. August veröffentlicht Toby Hitchcock sein Soloalbum-Debüt ‘Mercury’s Down’.
Toby hat sich bereits als Leadsänger von Pride Of Lions einen Namen gemacht. Während die Band eine kleine Pause nahm (sie bereitet sich aber schon wieder voller Tatendrang auf ein Comeback Album im 2012 vor) hat sich Toby mit Songwriter und Produzent Erik Martensson (Eclipse) zusammengetan. Erik’s Schreiber-Qualität gepaart mit dem unglaublichen Gesangstalent von Toby verspricht ein top Melodic-Rock Debüt des Jahres zu werden!

ENGLISH: On August 26th Toby Hitchcock is going to release his debut solo album ‘Mercury’s Down’.
Toby is well known as the lead singer of the band Prode Of Lions. While the band took a short timeout (but they’re already working together for a comeback album in 2012) Toby joined songwriter and producer Erik Martensson (Eclipse). Eriks writing skills married with Toby’s unbelievable singing talent promises to be one of the top Melodic Rock debuts of the year!
