U.D.O. – „Leatherhead“-Video und Albumcover „Rev-Raptor“ ab sofort online! / „Leatherhead“ video, album cover & tracklist available!

DEUTSCH: Einige weitere wichtige Mosaiksteine des am 20. Mai 2011 erscheinenden neuen U.D.O.-Albums „Rev-Raptor“ sind enthüllt.

Wie von zahlreichen Fans erhofft, ziert das „Rev-Raptor“-Cover erneut der fies-charakterstarke Comicheld „Mastercutor“, der innerhalb der letzten vier Jahre faktisch zum U.D.O.-Markenzeichen wurde. 13 Songs „bewacht“ die gezeichnete Comic-Persönlichkeit auf der regulären Edition von „Rev-Raptor“, auf dem limitierten Digipak gibt es zwei Songs und zwei Videos als Bonus.

Auch die bereits am 8. April erscheinende Single „Leatherhead“ ist auf dem Album enthalten. Der Song ist eine Hommage an die Rock-Szene, an ihre enthusiastischen Fans und an die begeisterungswillige Lebensweise der Szene. „Leatherhead“ ist eine klassische Metal-Hymne, bei der es natürlich auch im Video voll auf die Zwölf geht.
U.D.O. rocken darin in gewohnter Manier und zeigen sich agiler und rebellischer denn je.

Um das Thema „Rebell Sein“ geht es schließlich auch auf dem am 20. Mai erscheinenden Album „Rev-Raptor“. „“Wir haben immer gemacht, was wir wollten und mussten dafür viele Schwierigkeiten in Kauf nehmen,“, so Udo Dirkschneider. Eigenschaften, die zusammenschweißen – kaum eine Band ist aufeinander so eingeschworen wie U.D.O., und das gilt auch für ihre Crew. Wenn U.D.O. auf Tour gehen, wird im Vorfeld nicht geprobt. „Jeder von uns bereitet sich zuhause ein bisschen vor und die neuen Songs üben wir dann einfach beim Soundcheck zusammen. Wir kennen uns schließlich allesamt in- und auswendig. Das gilt auch für unsere Techniker. Nach einigen Shows müssen wir nicht mal mehr Soundcheck machen, weil jeder ganz genau weiß, was zu tun ist und wir einander 100%ig in allem vertrauen können.“

Mehr als 200 Shows absolvieren U.D.O. im Schnitt jährlich – und das weltweit. Ende April wird es die Herren für eine Gastspielreise nach Südamerika verschlagen. Europa und Russland folgen dann in der zweiten Jahreshälfte. „Wir haben alle so ein bisschen was von Zigeunern in uns“, beschreibt Bassist Fitty Wienhold. „Anders würden wir das intensive Tourleben auch gar nicht durchstehen können.“

As anticipated by many fans, the “Rev-Raptor” cover again shows the comic hero “Mastercutor”, that became U.D.O.’s trademark within the last four years. The regular CD edition of “Rev-Raptor” will include 13 songs, two additional tracks and 2 bonus video tracks can be found on the limited digipak.

The single “Leatherhead”, appearing on the 8th April, is also included on the album. The song is a tribute to the rock scene, its enthusiastic fans and to the consent of life in the scene. “Leatherhead” is a classic metal anthem and the video is very straight forward as well.
U.D.O. rock in the usual manner and show themselves to be more agile and rebellious than ever.

“Being a rebel” is also the topic on the upcoming album “Rev-Raptor”. “We always did what we wanted and that resulted in quite a lot of trouble” said Udo Dirkschneider.

Properties which weld together – there is hardly any band being as sworn in as U.D.O. and the same goes for their crew. If U.D.O. goes on tour, there are no rehearsals in advance. “Everyone of us prepares himself at home a bit and then the new songs are practiced together at the sound check. We just know each other by heart. This also applies to our technicians. After a few shows we even don’t have to do a sound check anymore, because everyone knows exactly what to do and we trust each other a 100%.”

U.D.O. does more than 200 shows on average every year – worldwide. At the end of April the guys will do a tour in South America. Europe and Russia will follow in the second half of the year. “We all have a little bit of a gypsy in us,” says bassist Fitty Wienhold. “Otherwise we wouldn’t get through the intense tour life.”
