DRAGONLAND – ab Ende Mai im Studio! / to enter the Studio May 31!
24. März 2011DEUTSCH: Die schwedischen Symphonic Metaller Dragonland werden sich am 31. Mai 11 in die dänischen Hansen Studios in Ribe begeben, um dort mit den Aufnahmen ihres fünften Albums zu beginnen, welches im August veröffentlicht wird. Die Aufnehmen finden in mehreren verschiedenen Studios statt, um dieses sehr ambitionierte Album zu erstellen. Jacob Hansen soll den 12 neuen Songs dann seine Magie verleihen, die auf der Grundlage einer tief emotionalen Geschichte basiert. welche an das zweite Album „Holy War“(2002) anknüpft.
Dragonland Gitarrist Olof Mörck dazu:
“Nach fünf Jahren, in denen wir Konzepte und Texte geschrieben und komponiert haben, sehen wir das Licht am Ende des sprichwörtlichen Tunnel! Nach “Astronomy” wussten wir, dass wir unsere Musik weiterentwickeln müssen, um nicht Gefahr laufen, eine Band zu werden, die jedes Jahr die gleiche Art Musik macht.
Ein neoklassisches Album mit allzu bombastischen Klischees von stählernen Kriegern zu machen, stand nicht zur Debatte – stattdessen erkundeten wir die Motive und Töne verschiedener neuer und alter Fantasy-Filme, aber auch unzähliger Computer-Rollenspiel-Soundtracks, um den musikalischen Aspekt mit einer authentischen Fantasie zu füllen. Hierzu lieferten haufenweise Wälzer aller möglichen mythologischen Erzählungen von Gilgamesch bis zur Aeneis eine echte und glaubwürdige Kulisse für die Geschichte.
Das Album ist wirklich in jeder Hinsicht ein Konzept-Album und wir werden mit einigen sehr begabten Künstlern zusammenarbeiten, die Experten in diesem Genre sind und unsere Welt visuell zum Leben erwecken – mehr dazu später.
Bereitet euch darauf vor, noch in diesem Jahr von einer Welt der zauberhaften Phantasie und Liedern von wirbelnder Magie verschlungen zu werden!“
ENGLISH: After five years Dragonland’s latest masterpiece, fifth album and follow up to 2006′s ‘Astronomy’ is nearing completion, and this latest opus set to be recorded at Hansen Studios starting May 31st 11! Several different studios will be used to put this utterly ambitious album together, though Jacob Hansen is set to put his magic touch to the mix.
Twelve songs will be recorded, and the music itself is founded upon a a deep and emotional story, picking up where second album ‘Holy War’ left off nine years ago.
Commented guitarist Olof Mörck:
“After 5 years of doing concepts, writing lyrics and composing we are seeing the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel! After ‘Astronomy’ we knew, we needed to explore our music further not to risk becoming a band that releases music every year cast in the same mold, so the idea from the beginning was; what would it be like with a metal album based in fantasy that respects the literary genre, that actually tries to be mature and that enriches said fantasy world with inspiration from millenias of human mythology? To make a neoclassical album filled with overly bombastic clichés of steel clad warriors was out of the question – instead we explored the themes and sounds around various fantasy movies, new and old, and also countless computer RPG soundtracks to infuse the musical aspect with a genuine fantasy feel, and as previously stated heaps and stacks of tomes on every mythological tale from Gilgamesh to the Aeneid provided a genuine and credible backdrop to the story. The album is genuinely a concept album in every aspect, and we will collaborate with some truly gifted artists who are experts in this genre to bring our world to life visually – more on that soon.
Prepare yourself to be engulfed in a world of enchanting phantasy and songs of swirling magic later this year!”

U.D.O. – Erste Hörprobe vom neuen Album online! / First song snippet „Leatherhead“ available!
24. März 2011DEUTSCH: Mit dem Song “Leatherhead“ geht heute die erste Hörprobe des am 20. Mai 11 erscheinenden neuen Albums von U.D.O., “REV-Raptor“ online. HIER könnt ihr euch einen ersten Eindruck verschaffen.
Bei dem Track handelt es sich zudem um die erste Single-Veröffentlichung aus dem Album, die bereits am 8. April 11 die Rockwelt beglücken wird. “Leatherhead“ ist eine Hymne für alle “echten“ Rockfans dieses Planeten und für ihren unverkennbaren Lifestyle.
Als frühere Accept-Leitfiguren und lebende Rock-Legenden wissen Sänger Udo Dirkschneider und Produzent/Gitarrist Stefan Kaufmann auch ganz genau, wovon sie sprechen. Beide haben sich im Laufe ihrer über mehrere Jahrzehnte andauernden Karriere niemals verbiegen lassen und haben ohne Unterbrechung oder Umwege ihr Ding durchgezogen.
“Leatherhead“ ist damit eine Hommage an eine Lebenseinstellung, für die Dirkschneider und Kaufmann sinnbildlich sind.
Die beiden sind in der internationalen Rockszene längst zu zwei wichtigen Schlüsselfiguren avanciert, die von ihrem Zielpublikum mehr als ernst genommen werden. So beschäftigt beispielsweise der Song “Cry Soldier Cry“ vom “Mission X“ Album (2005) bis heute. Das Stück, das von dem tragischen Schicksal vieler Soldaten in Kriegssituationen und von ihrem und dem Leid ihrer Angehörigen handelt, erschien als Zeichen des Respekts und des geschichtlichen Andenkens mit dem Titel “Platchet Soldat“ auch in russischer Sprache.
Bis heute beschäftigt sich das russische Publikum, das sich sehr berührt von der Geste zeigte, mit dem Stück. Kürzlich erschien ein dazu selbstgedrehtes Video auf youtube, mit dem russische Fans versuchten, das Stück auf ihre Weise visuell zu untermalen:

SAMAEL – “Lux Mundi” Track-By-Track
10. März 2011DEUTSCH: “Lux Mundi” wird 12 neue Tracks enthalten. Hier sind bereits ein paar Worte zu jedem Song:
“Luxferre”: Eröffnungs-Track des Albums, um den Ton musikalisch und lyrisch zu setzen … Der Song war ursprünglich als “Mehr Licht!” betitelt, einen Verweis auf “Mehr Licht!”, den vermutlich letzten Worte des deutschen Dichters Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, die er auf seinem Sterbebett ausgesprochen haben soll.
“Let My People Be!”: Wandern auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen Anarchie und Gesellschaft während der Prophezeiung einer neuen Ära. Middle-Tempo-Track mit einem eindringlichen Refrain.
“Of War”: Musikalisch schwer wie schwer sein kann. Dies ist das zweite Mal, dass Samael einen kompletten Song über das Thema Krieg schrieben. “Valkyries’New Ride” (Solar Soul) wurde mehr oder weniger direkt inspiriert vom andauernden Krieg im Irak, während “Of War” das Thema in einem allgemeinen Sinn behandelt.
“Antigod”: War die erste Single, die am 19. November 2010 veröffentlicht wurde. Es zeigt die Richtung des neuen Albums und gibt einen Vorgeschmack dessen, was noch kommt. Textlich ist der Song eine standhafte Haltung gegen jede Art von Religion.
“For A Thousand Years”: Schwerer Middle-Tempo-Track, welcher unsere Sicht auf Unsterblichkeit hinterfragt. Es ist die vollständige Orchestrierung des Liedes “Ten Thousand Years”, die auf der “Antigod” Single erscheint.
“The Shadow Of The Sword”: Der Koran sagt: “die Pforten des Paradieses stehen unter dem Schatten der Schwerter” … Dies ist ein weiteres Lied gegen die Religion und insbesondere gegen monotheistische Religionen, ein Up-Tempo-Track mit einigen aggressiven Anlehnungen an “Rain” (Passage).
“In The Deep”: Eine der experimentellen Songs auf dem Album, Tribal-Rhythmen mit einem sehr markanten Gitarrenriff. Es ist eine Reise in die Tiefen der Samael Seele.
“Mother Night”: Wahrscheinlich eine der schwersten Balladen die jemals geschrieben wurden … Nach den fortschrittlichen Power-Balladen ist der richtige Zeitpunkt für ein ultra Schweregefühl in diesem Genre …
“Pagan Trance”: Ein Teil der Songs gab es für eine lange Zeit, aber wir haben bis heute nie eine Möglichkeit gefunden ihn zu vervollständigen. Es ist ein ¾ Song wie “Antigod” aber er ist offener und irgendwie weicher. Der Text handelt über die Verbindung zwischen dem ewig Weiblichen und der Natur.
“In Gold We Trust”: Geld, materiellen Besitz und Erfolg… das ist die dreieinigkeit Gottes, der die meisten Leben in der heutigen Welt geopfert werden. Ein Up-Tempo-Track mit bombastischen Refrain.
“Soul Invictus” (etwa in Englisch übersetzen wie Invincible Soul) ist ein Wortspiel mit dem Sol Invictus, das von den Römern genutzt wurde. Der Song wurde bei der letzten Europa-Tour gespielt. Er wurde bald zu einem der Höhepunkte des Sets, da er von jedem Publikum umgehend zu einer Hymne erkoren wurde.
“The Truth Is Marching On”: Die Suche nach der ultimativen Wahrheit könnte eine Chimäre sein, aber jeder braucht seinen Weg um einen Menschen zu werden. Musikalisch beginnt das Lied mit einem Blastbeat der schneller ist als alles, was Samael je gespielt haben - die Spannung wird gehalten auf der gesamten Strecke und explodiert immer wieder bei wenigen Gelegenheiten.
“Lux Mundi” wird in Europa am 29. April veröffentlicht.
ENGLISH: “Lux Mundi” will contain 12 new original tracks and here are a few words about each song:
“Luxferre” : Opening track of the album to set the tone musically and lyrically… it was originally called “More Light!” a reference to “Mehr Licht!” which is believed to be the last words pronounced by German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe on his dying bed.
“Let My People Be!”: Walking the fine line between anarchy and society while prophesying a new era . Middle tempo track with a haunting chorus.
“Of War” : Musically heavy as heavy can be. This is the second time Samael wrote a complete song on the subject of war. “Valkyries’New Ride” (Solar Soul) was more or less directly inspired by the ongoing war in Iraq while “Of War” treats the topic in a general sense.
“Antigod” : was the first single released on 19th November 2010. It shows the new album’s direction and gives a taste of what’s about to come. Lyrically the song is a firm stand against any kind of religion.
“For A Thousand Years” : Heavy middle tempo track which questions our view on immortality. This is actually the full orchestration of the song “Ten Thousand Years” which appears on the “Antigod” single.
“The Shadow Of The Sword” : The Quran says “the gates of Paradise are under the shadows of the swords”…This is yet another song against religion and more particularly against monotheist religions, an up-tempo aggressive track with some reminiscence of “Rain” (Passage) as Waldemar (Sorychta) noticed.
“In The Deep” : One of the most experimental song on the album, tribal rhythms with a very distinctive guitar riff. It is a trip in the depths of the Samael‘s soul.
“Mother Night” : Probably the heaviest ballad ever written… After the power ballads, the progressive ones, the time is right for some ultra heaviness in that genre…
“Pagan Trance” : Part of the song existed for a long time but we’ve never found a way to complete it until today. It’s a ¾ song just as “Antigod” but it is more open and somehow more mellow. The lyrics are about connections between eternal feminine and nature.
“In Gold We Trust” : Money, material possessions and success this is the god’s trinity to which most lives are sacrificed in the today’s world. An up-tempo track with bombastic chorus.
“Soul Invictus” : (roughly translate in English as Invincible Soul) is a word play with the Sol Invictus used by the Romans. The song has been played during the latest European tour and it soon turn up to be one of the highlight of the set becoming a crowd anthem on the spot.
“The Truth Is Marching On” : The quest for ultimate truth could be a chimera, but it takes a ride on this road to make a man. Musically the song starts with a blast beat faster than anything Samael ever played before – the tension is kept throughout the track and explodes again on few occasions.
“Lux Mundi” will be released in Europe on the 29th of April.
DRAGONLAND – unterschreiben bei AFM Records! / sings with AFM Records!
10. März 2011AFM Records freut sich sehr, das Signing von Dragonland, den schwedischen Symphonic Power Metallern, bekanntgeben zu können!
Die Band hierzu:
“Wir hier im Dragonland Camp sind sehr glücklich und informieren euch, dass wir bei AFM Records unterschrieben haben! Diese Jungs sind Experten im Umgang mit unseren Genre, und wir freuen uns auf eine lange Zusammenarbeit mit ihnen! Es bedeutet auch, dass die Dinge in Bezug auf das neue Album beginnen werden sich ganz schnell zu bewegen, also bleibt dran für ein Release-Datum und vieles mehr bald! ”
Erste Songtitel stehen bereits: ‘The Tempest’, ‘A Stranger I Know’, ‘The Shadow Of The Mithril Mountains’ und ‘A Thousand Towers White’.
Es deutet sich bereits an, dass alle Fans sich auf das bisher ausgereifteste, epischste und melodischste Dragonland Album freuen können, das geschickt alles Liebgewonnene der vorigen Alben mit den Anfängen der Band verbindet.

You can already sense that all fans can look forward to the most sophisticated, most epic and melodic Dragonland album so far, that skillfully combines all grown fond of the previous albums with the beginnings of the band.
