AS I LAY DYING – enthüllen das neue Cover / reveal new cover
17. März 2010Deutsch: AS I LAY DYING haben sich erneut mit Jacob Bannon von Converge zusammengetan, welcher das Frontcover für das neue Album The Powerless Rise entworfen hat!
Jacob designte bereits die Cover für die drei bisher auf Metal Blade erschienenen Alben der Band, An Ocean Between Us (2007), Shadows Are Security (2005) und Frail Words Collapse (2003).

“We wanted to make sure our songwriting progressed and I feel we’ve achieved our goal in creating an album with greater intensity than any we’ve crafted before it,” erklärt AS I LAY DYING Sänger Tim Lambesis. “We added layers and complexity to the melodies and yet we were able to do so without softening our sound like so many of our peers.”

The Powerless Rise erscheint Anfangs Mai 2010 via Metal Blade Records.

ARMORED SAINT has now released their new album La Raza, the band’s first album since Revelation in 2001 and their sixth in total! The album’s foundation was laid back in 2008 when Joey Vera and John Bush began writing new material for what would become La Raza and the album was completed in December at Tranzformer Studios in Burbank, CA. The album was produced by bassist Joey Vera, and engineered by Bryan Carlstrom and his assistant John Nuss. Recording was mostly done with analog equipment and the final album mix was delivered on 1 inch tape. This gives La Raza the most organic sound as possible. KING OF ASGARD – neues Metal Blade-Signing / new Metal Blade signing

Metal Blade Records geben hiermit das Signing der schwedischen Viking Folk/Death Metal Band KING OF ASGARD für Europa bekannt.
KING OF ASGARD wurden im Jahre 2008 von Karl Beckman gegründet, nachdem er seine anderen musikalischen Projekte aufgelöst hatte. Er tat sich mit seinem lange verschollenen alten Komplizen Karsten Larsson (FALCONER) zusammen, mit dem er schon gemeinsam in der Wikingerhorde Mithotyn gewütet hatte. Nach jahrelanger Trennung war schnell klar, dass beide zurück zu ihren Wurzeln gehen wollten. Sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich, was sich auf das nordische Erbe bezieht, welches sie in ihren Texten weitertragen.
Die Kreativität schoß nur so aus ihnen heraus und eine Vielzahl an Stücken wurde geschrieben. 2009 begaben sich KING OF ASGARD schließlich ins Lotang Studio, um dort ihr erstes Demo, den 7-Tracker ‘Prince Of Märings’, einzuspielen, mit welchem man den Metal Blade Deal perfekt machte. Ende 2009 stieß noch J. Albrektsson zu den beiden hinzu und machte das Line-up komplett.
Momentan nehmen KING OF ASGARD ihr noch unbetiteltes Debütalbum in den Sonic Train Studios mit Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND) an den Reglern auf. Ziel der Band ist es, das Studio mit zwölf schwer nach Folk müffelnden Songs, die tief im Extrem-Metal wurzeln und die alten Zeiten heraufbeschwören, zu verlassen.
KING OF ASGARD kommentieren den Metal Blade Deal wie folgt: “King of Asgard are very proud being signed under the banners of Metal Blade Records. Releasing records under such influential label will be an honour and we feel our future collaboration will be nothing but grandiose. We are very keen on seeing what this can bring us. So teaming up with Brian, Andreas and the rest of the Blade-staff is something we’re easily throwing ourselves into and we’re eagerly devoted on getting our debut out and heads rolling. Lets see if we can create a winter of three!”
In KING OF ASGARD sind Mitglieder solch illustrer Gruppen wie Mithotyn, Falconer, Thy Primordial, Indungeon und Dawn aktiv.

Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of Swedish Viking Folk/Death Metal band KING OF ASGARD for the European territory.
KING OF ASGARD was formed in 2008 by Karl Beckman (ex-MITHOTYN) after dissolving his latest musical projects. Teaming up with long time absent fellow worker, Karsten Larsson (FALCONER), once accomplice in the defunct vikinghorde MITHOTYN. As a result, after years apart, the decision was made to go back to their roots both musically as well as heading for their Norse heritage in lyrical approach.
With creativity flowing, numerous songs were written and KING OF ASGARD recorded their 7-track demo Prince Of Märing at Lotang Studio that finally led to the deal with Metal Blade Records. In late 2009 Jonas Albrektsson joined the ranks on bass to strengthen the line-up further.
As we speak, KING OF ASGARD are busy recording their yet untitled debut album at Sonic Train Studio with Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND) at the helm. The scheme is to leave the studio with twelve dirty folk-stinking songs mould in extreme metal, reminding of times of old.
