GIANT – neues Album im Februar – Hörproben online / new album in February – song snippets online
24. Dezember 2009Deutsch: Die heute aus den Gründungsmitgliedern David Huff und Mike Brignardello sowie Terry Brock und John Roth bestehende Band Giant veröffentlicht ihr sehnlich erwartetes viertes Album “Promise Land” am 26. Februar 2010!
Im April 2009 begann die Band mit dem Songwriting- und Aufnahmeprozess für das neue Album. Dabei war auch Dann Huff involviert als Co-Songwriter der eingängigen Ballade “Our Love” und die straighten Rocksongs “Double Trouble”, “Plenty Of Love” und “Save Me”. Er brachte zudem Songs wie den Titeltrack des Albums und den Song “Through My Eyes” (beide in Zusammenarbeit mit Mark Spiro geschrieben) und “Two Worlds”. Dann Huff gastierte zudem an der Lead Gitarre bei den Songs “Save Me” und “Believer (Redux)”. “Believer (Redux) wurde von Erik Martensson und Robert Sall geschrieben, beides Members der aktuellen Melodic Rock Sensationsband W.E.T., geschrieben zusammen mit Miqael Persson. Auch die Tracks “Never Surrender” und “Prisoner Of Love” entstammen der Martensson/Persson-Zusammenarbeit.
“Promise Land” wurde von Ben Fowler (Van Zandt, Cher, Meat Loaf) gemischt. Das Mastering lag in den Händen von Joe Palmaccio (Gewinner von 3 Grammy Awards) .

English: Giant, the Rock quartet, now formed by founding members David Huff and Mike Brignardello, together with Terry Brock and John Roth, will unleash their highly anticipated fourth album “Promise Land” on February 26, 2010.
In April 2009 the band started the writing and the recording sessions of the new album, with Dann Huff himself participating to the sessions, co-writing with the new line-up members the haunting ballad Our Love and the straight out rockers Double Trouble, Plenty of Love, Save Me. He offered songs from his catalogue, such as the album title-track, Through My Eyes (both co-written with Mark Spiro) and Two Worlds. He also later guested on lead guitars on Save Me and Believer (Redux), the latter being a song written by Erik Martensson and Robert Sall of new Melodic Rock sensations W.E.T. with Miqael Persson (with two more: Never Surrender and Prisoner of Love fruit of the Martensson/Persson collaboration).
“Promise Land” was mixed by Ben Fowler (Van Zandt, Cher, Meat Loaf) and mastered by Joe Palmaccio (3 Grammy Awards won) .

Dezember und dem 31. Also, Dusty Peterson has been signed on to handle the artwork duties. His dark, yet meticulously detailed style of hand drawn artwork is sure to bring out a truly vivid and brutal masterpiece. We really wanted our artwork for the record to speak as loudly for us as the music we are creating, thus, Dusty was picked for his unbelievably realistic and detailed hand drawn style. In this day and age where downloading a CD is as easy as typing the CD’s name into a search bar, we wanted to make the artwork something creative and special for the fans who actually purchase the CD. Almost like owning a piece of art.
As for the title and tracklisting, you’ll just have to wait for that as the CD comes closer to completion.”

This is Exile was unleashed on July 8th, 2008, and debuted at #118 on the Billboard top 200 charts, #2 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers, and #14 on Billboard’s Top Independent albums. An accomplishment that is impressive for veteran artists, much less a relatively brand new metal act.

Contamination wurde in den Necromorbus Studios (Deströyer 666, Watain) aufgenommen – mit Tore Stjerna im Regiestuhl. Das Album der logische Nachfolger des Debüts The Invocation Of Demise (welches im Juli 2008 von Metal Blade Records weltweit wiederveröffentlicht worden ist). Valkyrja gehen auf ihrem zweiten Album noch unbarmherziger zur Sache, haben aber gleichzeitig ihren Sinn für unwiderstehliche Melodien nahezu perfektioniert!
Die Band kommentiert Contamination wie folgt: “The two years which have passed since the ‘The Invocation of Demise’ session has been a hectic period of composing, crafting and some line-up changes. During this last summer Valkyrja manifested the second album. There were no doubts that we would return to Necromorbus Studio, again with Tore Stjerna as producer, and the outcome of this session formed an abominable weapon. Generell wird jeder Black Metal Fan – und hierbei insbesondere die Anhänger von Bands wie Dissection und Naglfar – dem hymnischen Riffing und der boshaften Atmosphäre Valkyrjas ohne Gegenwehr erliegen!
Gekrönt von einer grandiosen, eiskalten und brutalen Produktion, ist Contamination in der Tat das erste große Black Metal Highlight des kommenden Jahres. Valkyrja ist mit Sicherheit DIE Band, nach der man 2010 Ausschau halten sollte!

23. Dezember 2009Deutsch: Die unangefochtenen Kings des groovigen Death Metal, Six Feet Under, sind zurück mit der dritten Ausgabe ihrer Coverserie ‘Graveyard Classics 3′. Die Scheibe erscheint in der Schweiz am 15. Januar 2010. ‘Graveyard Classics 3′ wurde im D.O.I. Digital Audio in Tampa, Florida eingespielt und in den Audiohammer Studios von Mark Lewis gemastert. Als Produzent fungierte Chris Barnes selbst.
Folgendes hat der Godfather des Gore Chris Barnes über das neue Graveyard Classics-Kapitel zu sagen:
“We went about picking the tracks for this installment of Graveyard Classics by really just trying to search out songs from early on in our musical upbringing, as well as tracks from when we were just fans of heavy music, before we started playing in a band. Once again choosing songs that have really stuck with us over the years, also choosing the songs that we felt would sound interesting when played in the SFU ‘death groove’ style.
Through the years of doing covers, many of our fans have inquired about us covering a Slayer or a Metallica song. It was really something we wanted to do for some time, those two bands being our biggest influences, as well as influencing a generation of death metal musicians.
To sum it up…this is a tribute to honor the great teachers that have influenced us as well as the world of metal we all belong to. We hope our fans will enjoy.“

AETERNAM – neues Album im Februar – erste Single online anhören / new album in February – listen to the new single
23. Dezember 2009Deutsch: Die Kanadier Aeternam machen sich bereit, endlich ihr sehnlichst erwartetes Debütalbum auf Europa loszulassen. Am 12. Februar 2010 ist es endlich soweit!
‘Disciples Of The Unseen’ enthält zehn Tracks und begeistert durch atmosphärischen, aggressiven, melodischen, ägyptisch angehauchten Death Metal. Produziert hat die Scheibe JeF Fortin (Neuraxis, The Last Felony). Fans von Nile, Melechesh, Behemoth und sogar frühen Trivium – eigentlich jeder Metalhead – wird hier etwas Passendes für sich finden. Über den eingängigen Gitarrenharmonien und –soli thronen Achraf Loudiys gelegentlich cleane Gesangslinien, die dem Gaumen besonders gut schmecken; vor allem denen, die sich bei tradtionellen Death Metal-Vocals schnell langweilen. Erster Beweis für die Klasse der Band: ihre erste Single ‘The Coronation Of Seth’, welche man sich hier anhören kann.

English: Quebec City’s Aeternam is gearing up to finally release their hotly anticipated debut album on February 12th, 2010! ‘Disciples Of The Unseen’ is a 10 track foray into an atmospheric, aggressive, melodic and Egyptian-tinged death metal. The album was produced by mastermind JeF Fortin (Neuraxis, The Last Felony) and is for fans of Nile, Melechesh, Behemoth and even earlier Trivium – any metal head will definitely find something to sink their teeth into here.
On top of the hook-laden guitar harmonies and solos are vocalist/guitarist Achraf Loudiy’s occasional clean vocal melodies; they provide a tasteful palate cleanser and provide an alternative for those who tire quickly from traditional death metal growls. This is particularly evident on the band’s first single, ‘The Coronation Of Seth’ (listen here).

ATROCITY – Neues Album mit Yasmin / new album featuring Yasmin
21. Dezember 2009DEUTSCH: Die Chartbreaker bleiben ihren Versprechen treu und wollen ihren Fans mit dem kommenden Album etwas gänzlich Neues präsentieren. So wurden die neuen Songs mit Yasmin Krull eingespielt und gehen musikalisch in eine völlig andere Richtung als “Werk 80 II”. Fans können sich hier einen ersten Überblick über den aktuellen Stand machen!
ENGLISH: The chartbreakers keep their promise of delivering something completely new on their upcoming album. The new songs, recorded with Yasmin Krull on vocals, have taken a very different direction than that heard on “Werk 80 II”. Fans of Atrocity may find a first update here!
